It had my favorite type of dry, back alley humor. That special type of sensible chuckle you only get from being from a toxic life, that makes everyone else uncomfortable or lost.

You're exceptionally fortunate it didn't take notice of you. Rabies treatment is still agonizing and not 100% effective.

That said, I do have a video of a opossum I took in broad daylight (different opossum encounter). I can convert it to webm if anyone's interested. It looked like it had mange.

>>3581944I've never heard of someone getting bit by a opossum. I mean, I'm sure it happens, but opossums are very chill. They're almost as docile as sloths. Their first line of defense is just freezing up and looking and smelling dead. The bite strength of a opossum is only 45 psi anyway (160 psi for humans); I can't imagine them doing too much damage. That said, I'm not looking to piss off or get bit by any animal. I was stealthy, so the opossum never noticed me.

"Domesticated" ones raised from kits by humans, well treated, fed, cared for are cute. The wild ones are anything but. I live where these things are native and they are potentially dangerous and as un-cute as you could possibly imagine. The only time I enjoy seeing them is alongside he road taking a 'nap.'
