The Gobots have been on my mind a lot these past few days.

Like I can't help but think while transformers are more fun to play with, it seems to me that in actual combat wouldn't simpler transformations give them an advantage?

A Transformer like Prime or Blackout transforms, you get like 5 five minutes of bullshit whirring and spinning parts and orchestra music.
A Gobot transforms in a fraction of a second.
The transformation of a transformer looks really cool but it doesn't seem very practical.
Like by the time a transformer is done
transforming a Gobot battle will begun fought and be done and over with.

What the fuck is up Gobotron?
Like why does it look all fucked up like that?

Were they building a new bigger planet on top of the older much smaller one?
Did it get hit with something? It just looks fucked up.

Appearantly Gobots used to be a humanoid organic species that merged with thier technology.
Apperantly they're not even entirely robots, they're cyborgs.

Like I liked the other Gobots but Scooter was such nasally dork.
Ya think him and Snarf ever went bowling?
Even as a kid I couldn't stand Snarf.
Kind of a ironic that the same voice actor who did Megatron also did the voice acting for Scooter. Scooter was the JarJarbinx of the Gobots.

Another battle field advantage the Gobots had was they didn't need laser pistols they shot energy blasts right from their fists. And they could fly.

Transformers transformations aren't supposed to be practical. They're supposed to look cool. That's the main reason why Gobots wasn't able to compete with Transformers. Sure, Gobots had simple transformations but the robots look like shit.

I disagree.
Rock Lords was the only good thing about Gobots.

If they would have introduced Rock Lords sooner they might still be around today.

The only thing more exciting than rocks that turn into robots would be rocks that turn into different rocks.

Oh wait a minute through processes varrying from metamorphism, crystallization, sedimentation, and erosion, over hundreds of years, rocks already do that.

Quite frankly there isn't enough rock based media.

Gobots were just ahead their time.

As I recall g1 transformers were not that much far head in complexity.
The g1 transformers looked just as dopey as Gobots.

Didn't Devastor have a bunch bulshit attachments to fully make his combined form?

Puzzler didn't need shit aside form the figures themselves. Even the modern day combiner wars transformers have hand and feet attachments.
