Gunpowder is easy:

Old types can be made from compost, wood, sulfur, and some hard work.

New types can be made with electricity, air, water, and cellulose.

Improvised types can be made with potassium chlorate and aluminum powder, or potassium chlorate and red phosphorus. Or a bunch of other mixtures I'm too lazy to list.

I always keep one year worth of food and water on hand.
